These photos vaguely depict the frustration and the despair this day came with. From burst tyres in the middle of literally nowhere, to motorbike rides that I suspect compromised my ability to sire children hehehehe, to torrential rains that threatened to jeopardise the entire shoot… I’m just glad that nowhere in these photos will you tell of the struggles this day brought on us.
But that’s the beauty of what I do. It’s not perfect. It’s terribly flawed. I’m terribly flawed, because in all this I was a nervous wreck. However, I have had the opportunity to work with amazing couples such as Wanjiru & Onesmus. And if you’ve followed my instagram feed @mwanikiweddings you’ll notice they’ve featured severally. This couple seems to love photos & honestly, they should. They’re terrific to work with and absolutely photogenic and I think they should both consider modelling 🙂
Anyway, enough of my rambling…I bet you want to know where this shoot took place. Well, we shot this set on the shore of Lake Elementaita. And this time of the year the birds flock the lake in well…flocks. What a fantastic backdrop they offered, coupled with the gloominess from the rain clouds in the distance. It provided the perfect set for our African winter-land-ish theme. Don’t judge me for the lack of adequate vocabulary to describe what we achieved hehehe. Nonetheless what matters is if the photos speak for themselves and I think they do.
I hope they give you the feels they’re all giving us here. Enjoy and most definitely leave your comments below if you can. I’d love to know what you think of the shots and if you’d want more of these on the website in future.
